{Mindful Marketing Monday} An Interview with Jess Boylston-Fagonde – Brand Thyself

Who knew that a conversation about branding could be so inspired, so divine, so absolutely lovely?

That’s what yogis around the world are experiencing when they go through a process called Brand Thyself with Jess.

This intuitive process has brilliantly bridged the gap between your offering, your divine gifts, your full expression of self and the branding that represents YOU.

The concept of a brand is tricky – but incredibly powerful. Many mistakenly believe that it’s just the logo you choose. But the logo is NOT the brand – it’s the representation of the brand. And there is more representing your brand than a logo. Beyond the design elements, consider the way you describe yourself and your offering, your process when working with people, how you communicate with the community and the world.

How do people FEEL when they meet your brand?

*Hint* If there isn’t a strong emotional connection, a sense of “OMG I found my teacher!” or “Wow she GETS me”, then chances are you’re missing the boat.

So how do you ensure that your brand evokes a strong emotional connection with your community, reflects your integrity, authenticity, and uniqueness?

{Techy Thursday} Guaranteed to Save You 4.5 Hours!

You’ve been dedicated to writing a blog post each and every week.

So by the time that you’ve written, edited, found a photo, optimized for seo, and everything else on your checklist {don’t have that yet? No worries — you’ll get one in Techy Training to Attract Your Tribe coming Fall 2011!}… you want to make sure that people are actually READING your post, right?

Here’s the scoop…

Most people DON’T check your blog.

Nope. They found it once, thought it was pretty good, and have yet to be seen from again.

Now that’s an issue for numerous reasons, but one of the biggest is that research shows that most people need up to 21 exposures to you and your business to know, like, and trust you… oh yeah and even remember that you exist.

21!

It’s a LOT. And can feel really overwhelming to think about.

Lucky for you – this is exactly the type of thing I love geeking out over and coming up with mindful marketing & techy tips to help people learn about who you are and how you can serve them WITHOUT the sleezy, pushy, yucky feeling of sending out 21 BUY NOW! messages.

A big part of this is meeting people where they already ARE.

Question: If you knew there was going to be an event, let’s say like an backyard BBQ, where lots of people who you KNOW are a great fit for what you do are going to be, you’d wanna be there, right?

But you wouldn’t walk up to someone and start selling yourself. Gross.

What you WOULD want to do is simply get to know them. Build the relationship. Listen. Be kind.

That’s the beauty of social media — it’s the on-going backyard BBQ where you can build relationships and listen. AND your ideal perfect clients {ya’ know, the ones you LOVE working with} are already there!

So make sure you’re nurturing those relationships. Like, for example, sharing your really great blog posts!

Interview with Diana Charabin of Tiny Devotions {Preview Vid!}

Oooooohhhh child!

As someone who is in no way a “fashionista” {You’ll find me most days in a tank and really old lululemon groove pants. Clean hair optional.}, it’s not often that I’ll get excited about a “trendy” or “fashion” anything.

But I gotta say, when Tiny Devotions entered my awareness, I was intrigued.

Seriously — a jewelry line even crossing my radar is a major feat. That’s some seriously good marketing!

But it wasn’t obvious, over-the-top, push-your-wares-on-me type marketing.

It was community-, connections-, contribution-focused marketing. {Yay!}

So I reached out to Diana Charabin to invite her to talk about Tiny Devotions as a Socially Conscious Biz. {Check out the preview below!}

Can’t wait to reveal the entire interview on Monday! Have a beautiful weekend!

    {Mindful Monday} Celebrating The Present

Our practice teaches us to root into the present moment.
To get centered and focused. To calm the body and the mind.

Our world conditions us to always be looking towards the future — always planning, always achieving, always looking towards the next goal to accomplish.

It doesn’t feel very balanced for yogi-preneurs, eh?

Celebrating the present moment is one of the most powerful practices for your business. Too often, we skip right over acknowledging the amazing contribution we’ve made to the world and rush to “do more”.

Today, I’m celebrating wrapping up The Yogipreneur’s Guide to Conscious Business Design, reflecting on all the amazing work my students have done and how many lives we can collectively touch when we come together to serve by sharing our own greatest passions.

{Techy Thursday} If you invite them, they will come!

You’ve been planning this AH-MAZ-ING event.

You know your community will LOVE it! But for them to love it, first they gotta know about it!

The thing is, we are busy. And distracted. And easily miss most of the messages that you sent us about the super-cool-awesome event you have planned.

As nice as it is to think that we’re all waiting eagerly for you to update your events page on your website — ohh I hate to break your heart here — but the truth of it is that we’re not checking that page.

And yeah, we’re getting your email updates, but I got distracted by the overload of information that you sent, so I clicked the link to your recipe and skipped the part about your events next month {that’s a completely different topic!}.

When you’re planning an event, use every tool in your toolbox to break through the noise of everyday life.

    Key takeaways from this video:

    1) Use Facebook events!
    2) Invite your personal friends {but only if they are who you want to work with. Don’t SPAM!}.
    3) Send an update to your fans!

{Mindful Marketing Monday} Stop Networking & Start Connecting!

Do traditional old-school networking events weird you out?

Tired of collecting business cards by the handful, all from people who are more interested in $ than in building relationships and serving a community?

Then you’re in the right place.

I’m not a big fan of networking events – they are great at giving the illusion of building awareness of your business, but often times, not much results from those early morning lead sharing groups {if} those other entrepreneurs aren’t helping the same type of person YOU are helping.

It’s all about alignment and synergy!

Weekend Insight: Are you a Sprint or Marathon Entrepreneur?

I’ve had many mentors over the past 10 years of working with entrepreneurs, but one woman made a HUGE impact on the path I would take as a person, entrepreneur, and consultant.

As a former Olympic level athlete and passionate entrepreneur, my mentor Marty Hackney shared these nuggets of wisdom that shaped the course of my own entrepreneurial journey.

    One nugget…

Are you a sprinter or marathoner?
